ATTENTION - EXTREME DANGER !

An Eastern Diamondback Rattlesnake was captured up on 118 Passage last week.  This snake was curled up under a wood fence and was just barely visible.  These snakes dislike people as much as people dislike them, and tend to avoid inhabited areas.  However, if cornered or stepped upon, they will attack with a very dangerous venom.  Particularly dangerous to small children and animals, the venom works fast and if the victim has an allergy to it as well, death may come swiftly without immediate medical care.  If you see a snake, call 911 or the Venom Response Team at 786-331-4443.  If bitten, stay calm, call 911. Do not run or exert yourself as this will only hasten the action of the venom.  Do not try to drive yourself to the hospital, you will not make it.  Call 911.  Parents, educate your children to stay away from snakes and to notify you immediately if one is seen.  Supervise your children when they are outside.  This is a very unusual occurrence, but it does happen in South Florida, be aware, educate yourself, and be on the lookout.

It's the Soldier, not the reporter
who has given us the freedom of the press.
It's the Soldier, not the poet,
who has given us the freedom of speech.
It's the Soldier, not the politicians
that ensures our right to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.
It's the Soldier who salutes the flag,
who serves beneath the flag,
and whose coffin is draped by the flag.
